hello and welcome to my tiny little corner of the interwebs !! my name is maomao/saluki or whatever you happen to know me as. i'm in my 20s and use any/all pronouns. this page is a place for me to blab about myself and perhaps for you to read. have fun? there's more below?
i've been on neocities in various forms since 2018 but have had this website since perhaps 2023? it used to be very bare-bones and plain but it's now ... whatever it is! i still want to keep the spirit of my original website and have secret pages, etc., so please keep an eye out for that! i've always really liked customizing my spaces (including online ones) and genuinely love tinkering with my site, usually as a method of avoiding work that actually needs to be done.
old web/internet is something that's really dear to me. i have a pretty strong distaste of modern internet and communal spaces, with how commodified and impersonal they are. as a child, i really loved surfing the web and playing flash games, where coming across niche subcultures and websites felt like discovering buried treasure. i miss visiting friends' pages/blogs and feeling like i'm visiting their rooms. idk if that makes sense. Anyway, that's why i'm like, here.
about me specifically: i'm mao, i'm in my 20s, and i'm actually a grad student! some things i enjoy doing are visual art, film photography, watching movies, sewing, and just making stuff! i also love collecting things and am slowly amassing various collections that can be perused on this website... i'm also audhd + filipino and am rather interested in astrology. basically, i have a lot of interests and hobbies. and also, i love having physical objects.
some things i collect: cassettes, CDs, old tech, photos/photocards, keychains, gacha figures, postcards, kandi!! i love having physical things that remind me of my loved ones, memories, things i like, and just stuff in general!! my memory is not the best so i rely on overdocumentation and objects to keep things in order.
